Dr. Thomas Sy is an award-winning scholar, teacher, and consultant. He is on the faculty of the Department of Psychology at the University of California where he teaches and conducts research on leadership, teams, unconscious biases, and diversity.
His research has been published in a variety of top outlets, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, The Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Vocational Behavior, as well as appearing in popular media such as National Public Radio, London Times, Washington Post, and among others.
In addition to his research and teaching, Dr. Sy provides consulting, training, and coaching services in the industry. He is Founder and CEO of MindTAPP, a tech startup developing solutions for cultivating inclusive minds and leadership.
He has served a variety of client organizations, including General Motors, Google, Zappos, Los Angeles County, Northrop Grumman, Salvation Army, EDS, Ford, Southern California Edison, Waste Management, Johnson & Johnson, Boeing, IBM, General Electric, U.S. Army Research Institute, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the United States Marine Corps Special Operations Command.
Dr. Sy completed his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Michigan. He was formerly an advisor with a top-tier global management consultancy, specializing in corporate strategy and operations. Dr. Sy has also served in the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Beret).
Alex Leung is the Product Lead of MindTAPP. He is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of California, researching leadership, followership, self-fulfilling prophecy, evaluative conditioning, and well-being.
Alex's research is published in a variety of scientific outlets. He has worked with a variety of organizations such as Zappos, U.S. Army, U.S. Strategic Command, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Army Research Institute.
He has also worked at State Farm and LeaderAMP as an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist.
